Eat In

It's so easy to "grab food" on your way home from work.  I know this, but if you weigh the pros vs the cons, you  should really start thinking of eating in more often.

Money Savings
Cooking with raw ingredients in your own kitchen will ultimately save you money.  For example, you can cook a whole pot of soup for under $10.  How much will eating out cost?  Also, think of the money that will be saved over the course of a month just by bringing homeade leftovers for lunch.

Control salt and fat
Restaurants use alot of salt and fat so the food tastes better.  By preparing food at home you take control of the amount of salt and oils you eat.

Portion Control
Restaurants generally serve WAY WAY too much food.  Wendy's medium cup won't even fit in my console!  We are taught as children to "clean our plates" and unfortunately we overeat simply by eating what was served to us.  By cooking your meals at home, you can distribute smaller portions and prevent overeating. I promise you won't miss feeling like Santa Claus.

Less Chance of Illness
You can be CERTAIN no one spit in your food or made your hamburger after a trip to the bathroom if you cook it yourself.  Enough said.

Priceless time with your family
You can use the prep time to teach your kids how to cook and the importance of eating a balanced meal.  This is something your kids will take with them their whole lives and could help them form proper eating habits young.

There's something about a family sitting around the dinner table sharing about their day that can't be explained.  It's unfortunate in today's culture we're losing this valuable family time.

I totally agree. My mom always cooked at home and my dad was ademant about a balanced meal. I just take the basics for granted.
