Now is the time of year when alot of people make a resolution to "get fit," but very few people stay on the boat. Here are some tips that may help you continue your quest to be fit all year long.
Be realistic, but SPECIFIC
Write down a few realistic goals that you can stick to. Maybe start out with 20 minutes of walking a day, then move it up to 30 the next. Avoid goals that only Rocky can achieve so you don't get frustrated.
Plan Ahead
Go through the pantry and pitch all the processed junk food so you won't be tempted to eat it. If it's not in the house, you are less likely to cheat. Make sure you have plenty of fresh, whole snacks so you don't feel deprived.
Spend some money on some good shoes so you don't get injured and are comfortable while you are moving that body!
Get a support system intact
I harp on this because it's so important. It helps so much to have someone who holds you accountable and encourages you when you need it. It also helps to have someone to whine to -
Eat breakfast even if it hurts
I never used to eat breakfast, but research shows the fit of the fit never skip it. I personally love a whole grain english muffin with almond butter.
Rediscover fruit
Our American diet has teased us away from "God's snacks" for processed, sugar snacks and alot of us have forgotten how wonderful fresh fruit is! Buy a fruit you normally wouldn't to introduce yourself again!
Eliminate All White
Processed sugars and they are all white - table sugar, pasta, rice, and bread. Wave goodbye and never look back. They aren't worth it.

Great tips! I keep to most of them, except eliminating all the sugar and processed foods. :) I've been in the habit of exercising 3x a week, and now my hubby is joining me!
